The Nursery (for babies, not plants)

With my usual spring schedule i will not be able to spend the time needed with Erin. This pains both Erin and I because we both know how much attention she will need toward the end of her pregnancy. One of the things that needed to be done was to fix up the Baby’s room. Considering that, i got working on that early. save for a crib and a rocking chair, the room is finished. We chose the north guest room because of it’s proximity to our own room. In hindsight the south guest room would have been best because of the beautiful sun shining in the window.

We took the wallpaper off and discovered HUGE cracks that needed to be plastered (it is over 130 years old). After playing in the mud for about a week i did a nice thick coat of moisture proof oil primer. The fumes from the primer were so strong and, i’m assuming, toxic. I think it took 10 years off my life. A couple of days later to recover from the primer experience and i started with painting the room in technicolor! I took the idea to paint each wall a different bold color from my cousin Jeanne. She’s so creative. Both Erin and I like the results and it really brightens up the room! It’s a happy place now. 🙂

Here are some pictures of the room. Inu is so vain, he can never pass up an opportunity to be in a picture.

  1. It looks beautiful Kyle…nice job. The room really looks nice now. Your house is beginning to really look like you and Erin. Great job.
I’m afraid this kid of yours might be a little hyper with all those super colors. Hope you can take it!! 🙂 lol
    Love you both.
