Friday we got to finalize Autumn’s adoption. It was a joyous day but I have to admit, I was a little nervous. My rational mind knew that the judge wouldn’t say “no”, but my rational mind doesn’t always work so well. So although I may have been a little flustered, the judge still gave us the a-ok to finalize her adoption. Yea!
After the courthouse we decided to go celebrate the only way Carson’s know how- with ice cream. We had some fun together and did our best to make it a special day not only for Autumn, but also for River- which worked with the ice cream at 2:30pm. He even got a little “big brother” gift from us. Since both that day, and in the last few weeks he has been a fabulous big bro. I am so proud of him.
At the end of the day we celebrated (more adult style) and the fab Ole Store. Yum. River had fun at that too (and Autumn as far as I could tell) since our friends the Ender’s joined us. They have their own beautiful adoption story with their little one, Joey. So the kids played, and we ate gluttonous meals. It was fantastic.
So now it is official. No more paperwork for my beautiful little Autumn. Happy adoption day baby girl, we are so blessed to have you in our family!
Now, 1 down.
If you would like to see more pictures from the day, please go here. And a big thank you goes to our friend and photographer Ali Hohn who tagged along with us that day so we could have some family pictures!
