christmas, new years, and all that jazz

Top stories from the last month or so:

* Jacquie Lawson Advent calendar. No other thing has kept my children so engaged during advent. Nothing.

*Annual Christmas party. Super fun. Santa. Tons of kids. Couldn’t be better.

*Elf on the Shelf. Jolly hung out at our house for a few weeks. Lots of conversations about River’s desire for Connect 4 with powers. Jolly got the info to Santa just in time.

*Holidazzle. Our annual trip up to see the holiday parade in Minneapolis was fun, and cold. Then the craziness went to Macy’s 8th floor “Day in the Life of an Elf”. It all started with dinner and drinks at an Irish Pub. New tradition that worked quite well for the parents.

*Christmas Eve fun at the Galleria where we finished shopping and had a nice bite to eat. You can never go wrong with the Good Earth.

*Christmas morning fun as ever. See cutest pic ever below.

*Christmas dinner was at our friends, the Norries. We couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming family experience for such a special night. We will forever be thankful to them for opening up their home to us!

* Morning after Christmas we got on a 6am flight to Hawaii. Mele Kalikimaka!

*Christmas morning on the 27th with my fam. Fun times!

*Play in beach (where Autumn finds waayyy too much joy putting sand in her hair) pool, where all the kids are in their element, and out and about in the beautiful island of Maui. Kids, parents, grandparents are happy on this beautiful isle.

*Autumn is getting to know her grammie and pap by sleeping in their room and every morning waking up and saying “Good Morning Grammie!”

*New Years Eve. Kids (meaning me, Colin, Beth and Kyle) had a joyful kid-free time out and about while grandparents and grandkids had a meal of champions with sparklers and cookies. Happy night.

*So thankful for all of us being together. SO THANKFUL.

Welcome 2013!
